A comprehensive range of cables specifically designed for Lifting and Handling applications including PVC/PVC & Neoprene Flatform cables, Drum Reeling cables and Pendant cables, most of these cables are held in stock and available for next day delivery throughout the UK.
The most common flatform cable types are PVC/PVC and Neoprene although special cables such as LSF Halogen Free are available
'FLATFLEX' H07VVH6-F PVC/PVC cables are most commonly used on festoon systems carrying power and control signals to equipment such as overhead cranes, electric hoists and many other types of mobile machinery. 'FLATFLEX has a PVC sheath and PVC insulation, is rated at 450/750 Volts and has a minimum bending radius of 8 x the cable thickness. 'FLATFLEX CY' which is a copper braided screened version is also available in most sizes.
'NEOFLAT' NGFLGOU-J/JZ NEOPRENE FLATFORM CABLES
Where more arduous duty cycles or harsh working environments are an issue ‘FLATFLEX N' (NGFLGOU-J/JZ) can be used, this is a harder wearing, more flexible cable with EPR insulation and Neoprene sheath. The rating of NEOFLAT is 300/500 Volts
There are also many other, less common types of Flatform cable available including screened versions, LSF, Halogen Free and cables specially designed for elevator applications.
Drum Reeling cables, as the name suggests are specially designed and constructed to accommodate the tight bend radii and constant bending associated with drum reeling applications.
There are two popular types of Drum Reeling cable available :-
This is the traditional, lower cost option it is an EPR/PCP construction and is a very flexible hard wearing cable suitable for most indoor & outdoor drum reeling applications. We carry this cable in a large range of sizes
Again. specifically designed for drum reeling applications, this cable provides all the features of DRUMFLEX with the added advantages of greater flexibility due to the PUR sheath and smaller outside diameter due to the use of special SEMOCORE insulation compound. Although this cable is more expensive than Drumflex, the reduced cable diameter often allows the selection of a smaller cable reeling drum which can result in significant cost savings on the project as a whole.
Pendant cables have been specially designed to support the load of a control pendant in addition to the cable self weight.
There are two types of cable designed for supporting pendants and control boxes as follows :-
This is by far the most common of the pendant cables, it is a multi core cable with two independent lateral suspension wires moulded into the cable sheath as shown in the illustration. The cable insulation is from XLPE whilst the outer sheath is PVC.
Where it is not feasible to use a cable with external strainers, or in applications where a Neoprene cable is required then the following cable can be used :-
This is an EPR/PCP construction cable with textile strainer weaved into the Neoprene sheath making it suitable for supporting the weight of a pendant unit or control box
Both the above cables are suitable for suspension lengths of up to 50 meters.
